1. Introduction and who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how AllNest (“we”, “our”, “the app”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the AllNest mobile application. AllNest lets you store documents and files in a secure vault, manage categories and items, create lists, track expenses, keep a diary, and optionally sync data across devices or share with others.
The app is offered by the developer/entity named in the Google Play or App Store listing for AllNest. For privacy enquiries or to request access or deletion of your data, use the contact details in Section 9 (Contact) or the in-app Support page.
2. Data we collect
- Account information: If you sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple, we receive your email address and (from Google/Apple) your name and profile photo. This is used to identify your account and secure access. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google).
- Profile information: You may set a display name, phone number, date of birth, and profile photo. This is stored on your device. If you choose “Our server” sync, it is also stored in our cloud (Firebase Firestore and Storage) so you can use the app on multiple devices.
- Your content (on device): Documents, photos, vault files, categories, items, lists, expense trackers, and diary entries are stored locally on your device (SQLite or equivalent). We do not access this content unless you enable server sync.
- Your content (when you enable “Our server”): If you turn on “Our server” in Settings, we sync your profile, categories, items, vault files, lists, expense trackers, diary entries, menstrual/period entries (e.g. CycleNest), reminders, and related data to Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) so you can access it from other devices. You can switch back to “Local only” or “iCloud / Google Drive” at any time.
- Social and sharing: If you use social features (friends, shared lists, shared expense trackers, chat), we store the data needed for those features in Firestore (e.g. friend requests, shared list content, chat messages). Your public profile (name, email, phone for search) is stored so other users can find you by email or phone, if you use those features.
- Push notifications: If you enable notifications, we store a device push token in Firestore so we can send you updates (e.g. list or tracker reminders).
- Usage and analytics: We may use Firebase Analytics in supported environments to understand how the app is used (e.g. anonymous usage events). We do not sell your personal data.
- Advertising: The app may show ads (e.g. banners, rewarded ads) provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect or use device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Play’s ads policy. You can control ad personalisation in your device settings. We do not sell your personal and sensitive data to third parties for advertising.
3. Why we need certain permissions
We request only the permissions necessary for the features we describe:
- Camera and photos: To capture or attach images to documents and vault items.
- Microphone: When recording video for documents.
- Storage / media: To save and open files and images you choose for your vault and documents.
- Biometrics (e.g. fingerprint, Face ID): To unlock the secure vault; processed on your device.
- Notifications: To send you reminders (e.g. for lists or trackers) if you opt in.
- Exact alarm (Android): For reminder scheduling when you set reminders in the app.
We do not use these for advertising. You can deny non-critical permissions; we will try to offer alternatives (e.g. manual entry) where possible.
4. Storage options you control
In Settings you can choose:
- Local only: All data stays on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.
- iCloud (iOS) / Google Drive (Android): Data is synced to your personal cloud. We do not store it on our servers.
- Our server: Data is synced to our secure backend (Firebase) for backup and multi-device access.
5. How we use your data
We use your data only to provide and improve AllNest: to authenticate you, to sync your data when you choose “Our server,” to enable sharing and social features when you use them, to send push notifications you opt into, and to comply with law. We do not sell your personal or sensitive user data. Data is transmitted using modern cryptography (e.g. HTTPS) where applicable.
6. Third parties
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Analytics) to run the app. Firebase’s use of data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. We may use Google AdMob for ads; see Google’s Privacy Policy. We only share data necessary to operate the app. If you sign in with Apple or Google, their respective privacy policies also apply. We require third-party code (e.g. SDKs) to comply with applicable policies and not to sell your personal and sensitive data.
7. Data retention and deletion
We retain your data only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time:
- From within the app: In Profile, use “Delete account” to remove your account and associated data from our systems. This is a readily discoverable option.
- On the web: You can request account deletion or use our sign-in page to delete your account and data. To remove only specific data (e.g. trackers, lists, profile, CycleNest, reminders, diary) without deleting your account, use our Manage your data page or the manage-data sign-in page.
- By email: Use our Contact & help page or email us at allnestmobileapp@gmail.com; we will process your request and delete your data (or the specific data you request).
Temporary deactivation or “freezing” of an account does not qualify as deletion. Where we must retain certain data for legal or security reasons, we will inform you in our response.
8. Your rights
Depending on your region (e.g. EU, UK, Switzerland), you may have the right to access, correct, port, or request deletion of your personal data, or to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. If we process EU/UK/Swiss personal information, we comply with applicable data protection laws and provide appropriate safeguards where required.
